Elements of the screen include the following:

Elements	description
Application title bar	Display the name of application and the minimize maximize/ restore, and close buttons.
Menu bar	Contains menu options. To use the menu, click an option to display a drop down menu and then click an option on the drop down menu to perform a command
Ruler	Display the setting for margin, tabs, and indent. The ruler also can be used to make these settings.
Insertion point	Mark the position with a blinking vertical line where a letter  is inserted when you press a key
Vertically and horizontal scroll bar	Scroll the screen vertically and horizontally
Status bar	Display informtion about the current document, including the page number and the position of the insertion point
